Whether you are a competitive rider, horse enthusiast or simply want to enjoy an exciting day out, Horse of the Year Show has something to offer every member of the family. Spread across five days, the show is the ultimate celebration of the horse and has something for every member of the family to enjoy - food and fine dining, a shopping paradise, and breath-taking displays.

We are thrilled to welcome back the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery Musical Drive as this year’s headline display, the iconic regiment is steeped in history and is the perfect fit for our 75th Anniversary. One to watch throughout the week - the exhilarating LeMieux Pony Club Mounted Games.

The first part of the week is packed with all the fan favourites including the Mountain and Moorland classes on Wednesday through to Friday. National Showjumping championships run throughout the week with the iconic Redpost Equestrian Senior Foxhunter Champion a highlight of Thursday evening.  Thursday evening is also the stage for the Dressage Future Elite Championship, with 8 of the country’s highly anticipated young horses performing an Intermediate I Freestyle test.

Friday also sees the start of the International Showjumping classes which are always firm favourites with the crowd. Keep your eyes peeled for our exciting rider line up for this year’s celebration.

Things hot up on the weekend, as the Saturday daytime showcases championships galore in both the TopSpec Arena and the Andrews Bowen International Arena. The evening performance is equally exhilarating with the final instalment of the Osborne Refrigerators Scurry Driving Championship and the continuation of the International Showjumping classes with the enthralling Ripon Select Foods Puissance finishing off the evening with competitors looking for that top spot jumping the Big Red Wall.

Sunday remains the ‘day of champions’ as the show comes to a climax with the crowning of the Supreme Products Supreme Horse and Supreme Products Supreme Pony of the Year and the Leading Showjumper of the Year. You will also get the chance to see the awarding of the much-coveted LeMieux sponsored Prince Philip Cup to the Pony Club team who have raced their way to victory in the Mounted Games heats. Rounding off a fantastic programme of equestrian talent will be the finale celebrations on Sunday evening marking the end of another fabulous edition of Horse of the Year Show.

Celebrating the 75th annual Horse of the Year Show, the Andrews Bowen International Arena will welcome the return of the Musical Drive of the Heavy Horses. This incredible display of horsemanship showcases the power of these most-treasured heavy breeds, whilst paying homage to the very first years of the show when the first pairs of heavy horses entered the arena!

Horse of the Year Show has had the honour of hosting the Heavy Horse Musical Drive numerous times over the past 75 years, and what was once the important task of harrowing surfaces in preparation for the following show jumping classes, has now become a timeless and beloved performance that is sure to fascinate patrons both new and old.

Reminiscent of years gone by, this display incorporates all the glory of the traditional driving tasks and outfits of stunning red smocks, as well as a modern twist of exciting movements and drill-style music, choreographed by John Peacock.

This magical display is most certainly not to be missed and will be in the Andrews Bowen International Arena throughout the show. On this celebration of 75 years of Horse of the Year Show, these majestic heavy horses will once again inspire the same awe and delight as they did all the way back in 1952.
