Redwings has been awarded a grant from SEIB Insurance Brokers Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards to help increase supporters’ engagement with the charity.

A donation of £11,200 has been granted to Redwings, which is one of the largest horse welfare charities in the UK, responsible for over 2,000 rescue horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.

The money will go towards the installation of an interactive paddock map at Redwings Aylsham Visitor Centre in Norfolk. The dog-friendly centre sees 20,000 people visit each year including families, school groups and animal welfare enthusiasts.

Rebecca Hatcher, Fundraising Officer at Redwings, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to have been awarded this grant from the Movement for Good Awards.

“The new interactive paddock map at Redwings Aylsham will mean a more compelling and memorable experience for visitors, whose generosity we rely on to fund our vital work rescuing and providing lifelong sanctuary to the horses, ponies, donkeys and mules who need us.

“The interactive map will provide information about all the equines who live with us at Aylsham - including where visitors can see them - information about the site, upcoming events, and important Redwings news.

“We hope the map will help forge a deeper emotional connection with our equines and Redwings, hopefully driving stronger support and increasing income.”

Since 2018, Redwings has benefitted from over £30,000 in grants directly from SEIB via their SEIB Giving Awards, and SEIB has collaborated with the charity on annual events including Strangles Awareness Week and various webinars.

Suzy Middleton, SEIB’s Chief Executive Officer said: “We’re delighted to see this Movement for Good grant going to an equine welfare charity that we have a strong history with. The team at Redwings leave no stone unturned in their quest to provide the best possible outcomes for the horses and ponies in their care. Promoting equine welfare is so important to us at SEIB and working with and giving back to the equine community are long-held values within our business.”

SEIB provides insurance cover for a number of charities and has done so since its inception over 60 years ago. Since 2018, SEIB has donated over £300,000 to good causes throughout Britain.
