There was a buzz of excitement at this year’s Longines Royal International Horses Show, as the best of the best were out competing.
Susie Eddis and Beat the Boss took the Supreme Pony Champions – a fantastic achievement after jumping an outstanding clear round to win the Supreme Working Hunter Pony title on her way to the prestigious award. Beat the Boss is fed on TopSpec Comprehensive Feed Balancer with TopSpec UlsaKind Cubes and TopSpec Performance Cubes are added when extra energy is required – a combination which has proved to help him fly around these testing tracks.
The opening day saw one of the largest gatherings of coloured horses and ponies for the skewbald and piebald classes. Michaela Wood and the 10-year-old, Login Lucky Lad, won the Skewbald and Piebald Ridden Pony Championships before being presented with the overall Coloured Supreme Champion. Lucky Lad is a good-doer and TopSpec Lite Feed Balancer keeps him looking outstanding.
Robert Walker was on great form with Camilla Neame’s Starry Night in the Maxi-Cob Championship when taking the honours in this very competitive class.
Robert’s son, Sam, proved that it wasn’t just his dad who is king of the ring, Sam and new ride, Rotherwood Royal Flight put in a perfect show to take the BSPS Show Pony 138cms Championship.
Rotherwood Royal Flight had only arrived on the yard a few weeks before the show so top marks to Sam for his super riding. Robert and Sarah feed TopSpec to all the horses and ponies on their yard. Their favorite products include TopSpec Comprehensive Feed Balancer and TopSpec CoolCondition Cubes, which are both ‘Non-Heating’ and formulated without any cereal-grains.
In the Young Riders M&M Championship, Terri Gregson and Walstead Pageboy were the judges pick. Pageboy is a good-doer like many Connemara ponies and it is TopSpec Lite Feed Balancer that goes into his bucket.
Phoebe Thomas and Parkhill Ronaldo, produced by Sophie Curry were top of the line in the 133cm Show Hunter Pony Championship. Ronaldo is another one fed on TopSpec Comprehensive Feed Balancer and TopSpec CoolCondition Cubes, a great combination when you need condition and topline without any fizz!
Katrina Braithwaite and Killderry Rupert were another combination to jump a superb round to win and then stand Working Hunter Supreme Champions. Katrina has also qualified this lovely horse for Horse of the Year Show. Katrina, who always feeds TopSpec and is a real fan of TopSpec products, feeds TopSpec Comprehensive Feed Balancer to Rupert.
In the International arena, 10-year-old showjumper, Hannah Barker and My Little Sweetheart were crowned the winners of the prestigious Winter 128cms Championships.
This was Hannah’s first appearance in the class at the Royal International Horse Show and they proved to be cool and confident with a superb double clear over a very testing and up to height course. As well as TopSpec feeds My Little Sweetheart gets TopSpec 10:10 Joint Support added to her feeds to support her joints.
